Our timesheet margin report shows you your gross and net margin for any timesheet invoiced and funded by Sonovate. This can be exported directly from the system for any date range. This guide will walk you through the process of using this feature, which replaces part of the functionality previously provided by the weekly WISE report.
Accessing the Timesheet Margin Report
-
Navigate to the Reports page:
- Log into the system.
- Go to the navigation bar and click Reports.
- Locate the report titled Timesheet margin.
- This report gives you a CSV file containing your margin for every timesheet that Sonovate has billed and funded
Exporting the report
-
Choose a Time Period:
- Select the desired time period for your margin reporting. For example, if you are reporting on the month of June, enter June's dates.
- All timesheets that have been billed in the given period will be included in the report (i.e. it's the invoicing date that matters, not the date of the timesheet itself). This is important, because if a timesheet is credited and re-billed in a later time period, it would appear in that report too.
-
Download the Data:
- Click 'Download'. A file will be generated and downloaded to your computer.
- The file will contain the raw data needed to perform your margin and commission calculations.
Using the Report
- Every line on the csv file is a timesheet rate, showing:
- the sales invoice value
- the supplier self bill (candidate) value
- any Sonovate fees that have been charged
- the margin that you have made for that timesheet
- Any adjustments to timesheets or invoices (e.g. VAT adjustments or timesheet edits) will be included in the report (if they happened within the given date range). This will ensure that the true margin position of that timesheet is reflected. As in the example below, if a timesheet has been credited and re-billed multiple times, due to adjustments to the timesheet, then the final margin position will vary from the original margin made when the timesheet was first billed
- Please note, the report will not include any timesheets that have not been funded/paid by Sonovate. This can happen for a number of reasons, such as the end-client has exceeded their funding limit.
